For my sustained investigation, I created my pieces based on different places that I have traveled around the world. My work explores personal examples of how travel has been influential and transformative in my perspective and in my life. I used my own experiences and expressed them on canvas to show how each place I have been has had an impact on me. 

For some, I chose bright and vibrant colors that represent the positive aspects of these feelings. Using acrylic on different sized canvas’ allowed me to utilize different styles including pop art, loose painting, and impressionism. I created compositions exploring a variety of perspectives including aerial and one-point perspectives. Using my own reference photos of places from my travels allowed for a direct approach to ideas while brainstorming new styles. The pieces hold memories from my past and use 2-D art skills to convey a message. While the concepts seem very simple, they each have their own special interpretation representing important maps of places in my life.
